Three’s Bar & Grill reopened Wednesday evening for dinner service after being closed for about a month following a kitchen fire, the Kihei restaurant said.
The restaurant at 1945 S. Kihei Road shut down following a kitchen fire reported at about 6 a.m. Oct. 23. The Maui Fire Department reported damage of $150,000 to the building and $100,000 to its contents.
The restaurant in Kihei Kalama Village closed after the fire. It is owned by Jaron Blosser, Cody Christopher and Travis Morrin.
The reopening put 70 people back to work, the restaurant said.
“We are super grateful to be back in business. It’s important to us and to our employees,” Morrin said on behalf of the owners.
The owners thanked the Fire Department “for saving our restaurant”; county departments; their employees; contractors RVS Construction, Da Kyhn Services, Integrity Air, Wiki Wiki Electric, Remco, Maui Fire and Flood and CDF Engineering; MW Group and Bargreen Ellingson.
“We also want to thank all of our vendors and insurance carriers for working with us through this challenging time,” Morrin said.
In repairing the building, the restaurant made some enhancements, including new tile, paint and a custom mural in the dining room. The menu has been revamped as well, an announcement said.
The restaurant is open from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
