Moore should once again be considered the No. 1 receiver for the Bears, but he might not be as productive as he was in 2023. This season, consider Moore a No. 2 Fantasy receiver, and he's worth drafting in Round 4 in the majority of leagues. Last year, Moore averaged a career-best 16.9 PPR points per game, but he was the clear focal point of the passing game with 136 targets. This season, the Bears added Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, and both will command plenty of targets, which should impact Moore. We also have to see how Moore adjusts to a rookie quarterback in Caleb Williams, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Moore should still be productive but don't be surprised if he sees a decline in production this season with the new additions to Chicago's receiving corps. He should definitely be drafted as a starter in the majority of leagues, but don't reach for him on Draft Day based on how he performed in 2023.

Bears' DJ Moore: Inks extension

Moore and the Bears have come to terms on a four-year, $110 million extension that includes $82.5 million guaranteed, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. After spending his first five seasons in Carolina, Moore experienced career-highs across the board with the Bears in 2023, including 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns on 96 receptions. The offense will look drastically different this year, as he will share the receiving room with the likes of Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, as well as catch passes from No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams. Chicago also added TE Gerald Everett and RB D'Andre Swift, so it seems unlikely that Moore will be able to match his 28-8 percent target share from last year. Still, the team is clearly invested in the veteran pass catcher going forward.

Moore worked out in April with Bears QB Caleb Williams and fellow Bears WRs Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports. The workouts took place shortly before the draft, at which point Williams was all but locked in as the No. 1 overall pick for Chicago (and Odunze considered a strong candidate to join him at No. 9). The Bears ended up with both, completing their offseason makeover on offense after trading for Allen and signing RB D'Andre Swift and TE Gerald Everett. The crowded pass-catching corps means Moore is unlikely to match his career-high 28.8 percent target share from 2023, though there likely will be more overall targets, as the Bears figure to call pass plays at a higher rate and will no longer have sack/scramble-happy Justin Fields under center.

Moore caught four passes on six targets for 64 yards in the Bears' 17-9 loss to the Packers on Sunday. After five seasons in Carolina, Moore had the best quarterback play during his time in the NFL, and he turned into to a career year. The veteran caught 96 passes for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns on 130 targets. Although the target total was the fourth-highest of his career, he bested his career high in receiving yards by 171 yards, and his eight scores were one more than his previous career-best mark that he set in 2022. He's under contract with Chicago through 2025. With the expectation that Moore will have at least the same level of quarterback play, and possibly an elevated level, the wideout will likely be one of the top receivers selected in 2024 fantasy drafts.

On the Bears' second play from scrimmage, Moore recorded a six-yard catch, but as he was taken to the ground, his right ankle was rolled up on. He remained on the turf for several minutes and then visited the sideline tent for even longer, but after being deemed questionable to return, he reentered the contest. Overall, it marked Moore's least productive outing in terms of yards this season, and the six targets matched his third fewest in a game through 15 outings. Afterward, he told Alex Shapiro of NBC Sports Chicago that he "was hurting" but then "thought ... 'Why not just go out there and play?'" As such, Moore seems like a good bet to show up on Bears injury reports as the team prepares for its next game Sunday, Dec. 31 against the Falcons.

Moore recorded six receptions on 10 targets for 68 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-13 win over the Lions. He added three rushes for 20 yards and an additional touchdown. Moore got involved in the offense immediately, as he capped the team's opening drive with a 16-yard rushing touchdown. However, he was held off the stat sheet for the rest of the half and didn't have a reception or target at halftime. That changed in the final two quarters, and he still managed to lead the team in targets, receptions and yards. Moore's day as a receiver was highlighted by a 38-yard touchdown catch late in the third quarter when he beat his defender deep for what ultimately became the game-winning touchdown. He now has a touchdown in two of his last three games and has 278 receiving yards in that same span.

Moore also saved his best for last, recording 16- and 36-yard grabs on what would turn out to be Chicago's game-winning drive. Moore's catch total was a season high, and his yardage tally was his first over the century mark since Week 5. Following the Week 13 bye, Moore gets a crack at a Lions defense he posted a 7-96-1 line against during the first meeting between the division rivals.

The talented wideout wasn't able to come close to a top-end performance against his old squad, but Moore's receiving yardage total was his highest since his breakout 230-yard effort Week 5 against the Commanders. The veteran could see a boost in production again in a Week 11 divisional clash against the Lions on Sunday, Nov. 19 that should mark Justin Fields' (thumb) return to action.

This is a revenge game for Moore, who spent the first five seasons of his career in Carolina before the Panthers traded him to Chicago this offseason. It would be nice if Justin Fields (thumb) were active for this game, but he's listed as doubtful, meaning Tyson Bagent will start again. That's been a bad formula for Moore since he has three games in a row with 55 yards or less and no touchdowns, and he's scored 9.5 PPR points or less in each of his past two outings against the Chargers and Saints. I'm going to count on the Bears coaching staff to put Moore in position to make plays this week against his former team, and the Panthers have struggled with No. 1 receivers for the majority of this season (see Chris Olave in Week 2, DK Metcalf in Week 3, Justin Jefferson in Week 4, Josh Reynolds without Amon-Ra St. Brown in Week 5, Tyreek Hill in Week 6 and Michael Pittman in Week 9). Look for Moore to get his revenge on Thursday night.

It was a ragged day all the way around for the normally reliable receiver, who finished behind both Cole Kmet and Darnell Mooney in receptions while also losing a fumble in Bears territory early in the third quarter that led to a Saints field goal. Moore has now been under the 100-yard mark in four consecutive contests after a stellar two-game stretch in Weeks 4 and 5, but he could have Justin Fields (thumb) back under center in a Week 10 home matchup against the Panthers on Thursday night.
